Owner/CEO
Calan J. Ahrens
Calan was born in Fredericksburg, Texas in July of 1992. He grew up in Alpine, Texas and graduated high school there in 2010. At a very young age, his passion for ranching, hunting, and the outdoors began.
In 2014, he graduated from Texas A&M University-Kingsville with a degree in Wildlife Recreational Entrepreneurship. Following graduation, Calan worked for the historic King Ranch in South Texas as a Cow-Calf Manager on the Laureles Division, where he gained firsthand experience in large-scale ranching, cattle operations, and land stewardship.
Shortly after his departure from King Ranch, he started Ahrens Ranch & Wildlife in February 2017 with a vision of building a full-scale ranch, wildlife, and hunting operation rooted in hard work, integrity, and long-term land management.
Calan remains actively involved in the wildlife and hunting industry through leadership and service roles within multiple organizations. He currently serves as Vice President of the Exotic Wildlife Association and also as President of the Trophy Game Records of The World.
Today, Ahrens Ranch & Wildlife continues to operate with a focus on authentic ranching values, responsible wildlife management, and providing high-quality experiences and services across Texas.
